2 Down 1 to Go...

One of the best things that parents can experience is their children coming to know the Lord. On November 25, 2008 around 3:30pm James Michael asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior! This was so wonderful. He met with Dr. Sutton in his office and prayed the sinners prayer. His best friend and brother Jacob was really interested in what had happened with James. He very matter-of-factly said that next Sunday..."Why can't I do that?" Well, what is a parent to say except, you can? We agreed to talk about it later, and that later came for Jacob, on February 22, 2009 around 9:00pm. At home on that Sunday night Jacob prayed the sinners prayer with our family. James had not been baptised due to the holidays, and scheduling, and by what I consider God's timing. Why God's timing? Well, because both brothers will now be baptised together, this Sunday morning, March 15,2009!! Michael will be in the baptistery pit to help with the boys, and our families will be there, including friends. We will take the Lord's Supper with both boys for the first time. Why 2 down 1 to go? Little Will. He is the last of the current lot, to ask Jesus into his heart as his personal Lord and Savior. As he is only (3) we will not freak out about it yet!! We will pray and have faith in the fact that soon we will be 5 out of 5. We will all then walk the streets of gold and never thirst or hurt again... Until then there is more work to be done and we will look forward to doing it. I wonder as a parent what God has prepared for James, Jacob, and Will? Jacob has said for over a year now that he wants to be a missionary. That is like hearing your little guy say he wants to be in the Army. Very selfishly SCARY and yet very excited that he might be one of the chosen ones to Go Ye... At the end of this daily ramble I just praise God for his works thus far and all of his works to come! AMEN
